Claudia Betancourt Rodriguez

Claudia Betancourt is a University certified specialist in Special and Inclusive Education and also Alumni of the prestigious Texas Partners in Policymaking program from the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities (TCDD), with extensive experience in disability advocacy, family support, and policy development. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and Administration, she redirected her career toward advocacy in 2018, inspired by her commitment to supporting her child with Down syndrome. This journey fueled her passion for empowering individuals with disabilities and their families.

With a strong academic foundation, Claudia helps educators adapt curricula to meet diverse learning needs and equips families with effective advocacy strategies. She has guided Hispanic families in developing meaningful IEP goals and provided hands-on support during IEP meetings. Additionally, she played an active role in legislative advocacy in Nuevo León, Mexico, contributing proposals for laws focused on the protection, care, and inclusion of individuals with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders.

Now based in Canada, as part of the board of InclusiveAbility Toronto, she helps parents navigate their children’s diagnoses and connects them with vital programs and services. Known for her patience, flexibility, and collaborative approach, she is passionate about working alongside others who share her vision for an inclusive, supportive community for people of all abilities.
